SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION
Ensure the maintenance of customer base and the profitability of new and used sales department.
Fulfills responsibilities by managing staff effectively and demonstrating knowledge of potential markets and help established performance standards.
He spends his energy and efforts to ensure that everything is in place to facilitate the achievement of objectives by the sales team and he closely monitors this development on a daily basis.
MAIN TASKS:
- Forecast, on a monthly and annual basis, objectives relating to sales, gross turnover and essential expenses.
- Ensure appropriate follow-up of any potential buyer by creating, implementing and closely monitoring a customer research and sales monitoring system.
- Create, implement and monitor a tracking system for buyers of new and used units.
- Provide your superior, on a daily basis, with precise data on the control of activities on the floor.
- Collaborate with the sales team on programs that increase gross new unit revenue and after-sales marketing penetration (financing and insurance).
- Communicate with financial institutions to have exceptional cases approved (acceptance rate).
- Direct the department's marketing and advertising activities in collaboration with his superior. Collaborate in the design of various advertising and promotional campaigns.
- Ensure that all customers are introduced to the sales manager.
- Complete the concluded transaction sheets and submit them to accounting in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain standards for the delivery of units to customers.
- Ensure that at the time of delivery, the first appointment with after-sales service is made.
- Process sales consultant commission sheets and control their payroll records.
- Collaborate in carrying out recovery assessments, as needed.
- Analyze the various reports relating to customer satisfaction and submit recommendations to ensure customer retention and loyalty.
- Stay informed about new products, programs and current promotions from manufacturers and/or financial institutions. Notify the sales team of any changes.
Tasks related to inventory/purchase/evaluation management
- Check inventory of new and used units daily in view to ensure an adequate balance of stocks allowing their efficient rotation optimal.
- Make recommendations to your superior regarding the inventory of units new and used.
- Closely monitor customer tastes, lost sales, sales history of the dealership and local market trends in order to choose the units to keep in stock and make balanced purchases.
- Analyze advertisements in newspapers or other prominent publications to find units in good condition and attractive for resale.
- Supervise unit exchanges between dealers.
- Plan and control the display of units in the showroom and outside the exterior.
- Stay informed of the market and current unit valuations second hand.
- Manage the refurbishment of used units (reconditioning).
- Ensure that the repair of the mechanics is carried out below the costs and time anticipated by the dealer.
- Create and maintain an external network (wholesalers and retailers) both for the purchase and sale of units.
- Closely monitor lost sales.
- Develop and control wholesale sales activities.
Tasks related to human resources management
- Chair weekly meetings for the sales team and put in place systems that ensure the continuing training of sales consultants.
- Train and motivate staff under his responsibility and participate in the hiring of his staff in collaboration with his superior.
- Conduct formal performance evaluations of staff under his or her responsibility at fixed intervals.
- Help sales consultants set aggressive monthly goals, but realistic, and give them the support necessary to achieve them.
- Help sales advisors close deals and meet with customers, if necessary.
- Ensure that sales consultants understand and respect the policies, modalities and sales systems of the dealership.
- Monitor the efforts of sales consultants to improve the image and dealership customer satisfaction ratings.
- Encourage teamwork in a sales environment focused on customers throughout the sales, delivery and follow-up procedures.
- Ensure effective communications within the department as well as a department to another.
- Attend directors’ meetings, upon invitation.
- Present yourself in a professional manner.
- Perform other tasks as needed and as directed by management.
